Beatdown (Ex)

Whenever struck by a melee attack as a counter attack, the Gold Dragon will return one claw strike at 3d8+27 points of damage.

During Phase II, there is a 50% chance he will counter with Mighty Claw instead and this doesn’t interfere with the cooldown on it.

Magic Resistance (Ex)

All magical spells and effects only deal 1/2 of their total damage except for water and lightning magical damage to Gold Dragon. This however does not interfere with Runic Guard.

During Phase II, damage reduced to 1/4 of their total instead of 1/2

Mighty Claw (Ex) [Phase II]

Once every 1d2+1 rounds as a standard action, Gold Dragon strikes down with a mighty force. If he hits (+43), his claw deals 4d8+36 points of slashing/piercing damage and must make a Will save (DC 32) or receive the Confuse status effect for 2d4 rounds.

Plasma (Su)

Once every 1d2+1 rounds as as standard action, Gold Dragon shoots out a charged beam towards one single target within 120 ft.-range doing 15d10 points of plasma (half lightning/fire) damage.

Relentless (Ex)

Gold Dragon can make his full-round attack with one of his standard action abilities.

SPECIAL ABILITIES [phase Ii]

Runic Guard (Su) [Begins Phase II]

Once below 50% health (638), This Burst Mode lets Gold Dragon guard against most magic spells, making it impossible to hurt him with magic. For a number of rounds equal to 1 + 1 round for every four HD, Gold Dragon gains a permanent Runic effect absorbing all spells within 240-ft.-range of him and increases his Spell resistance to 38. This limit break requires only a swift action to activate.

Wave Cannon (Su) [Phase II]

Once every 1d4+1 rounds as a standard action, Gold Dragon screams out a bitter invective, his voice followed by a tempest of crackling electricity. All enemies within a 60 ft. cone suffer 20d8 lightning damage, with a Reflex save (DC 32) for half damage, and inflicts the Static status effect for 1 minute, no save. Blue mages may learn this ability as a 9th level spell (Knowledge: Arcana DC 33).
