Thunder God

Sword saints who walk in the tempest unafraid, draw the power of the storm into themselves and become Thunder Gods.

The thunder god is an archetype of the sword saint class.

Lightning Swordskills (Su)

At 1st level, as a free action, a thunder god can convert any swordskill that deals elemental damage into lightning damage.

This ability modifies swordskills.

Lightning Finish (Ex)

At 1st level, as a swift action, a thunder god can make a single attack with a manufactured slashing weapon he is currently wielding against any target he has successfully hit at least twice during his turn. This attack deals normal damage but without the normal Strength bonus to damage.

At 4th level, he can take a 5-foot step before or after performing a lightning finish so long as he ends adjacent to his target, though if he takes this step, he cannot perform a 5-foot step during his next turn. At 8th level, he applies his full Strength bonus to his damage roll for the extra attack, even if he made the attack with an off-hand weapon or with a weapon wielded in two hands. At 12th level, if he hits the target at least three times during his turn, taking the 5-foot step granted by lightning finish does not prevent him from taking a 5-foot step during his next turn.

A thunder god can use this ability a number of times per day equal to his sword saint level, but no more than once per round.

This ability replaces aegis.

Stormchild (Ex)

At 3rd level, the thunder god gains resist lightning 5, and treats wind effects as being one step less severe. At 9th level and 15th level, this resistance increases by 5 and he treats wind effects as being two steps less severe and gains blindsight 60 feet against concealment from natural or magical fog, mist, or weather effects.

This ability replaces warleader.

Thunderstrike (Su)

At 4th level, a thunder god can wreathe his weapon in lightning. As a standard action, he can grant a single weapon he holds the shock special ability for 1 minute; while under this effect, the weapon counts as magic for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. A thunder god can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. At 12th level, weapons affected by this ability gain the shocking burst special ability.

This ability replaces tactical flanker.

Echoing Thunder (Su)

At 8th level, anytime a thunder god resists lightning damage, he can spend an immediate action to redirect the damage to another creature within 30 feet. The creature must succeed at a Reflex save (DC 10 + half the sword saint’s level + his Charisma modifier) or take an amount of lightning damage equal to the amount he resisted.

This ability replaces tactical assistance.

Thunderbolt (Su)

At 9th level, the thunder god can command a stroke of lightning to strike from above in a 5-foot-radius cylinder, 60 feet high. The thunderbolt inflicts 1d6 points of lightning damage per sword saint level. A Reflex save (DC 10 + half his sword saint’s level + his Charisma modifier) halves this damage. Creatures failing their saves are deafened for 1 round. At 9th level, the thunder god can use this ability once per day, at 17th twice per day, and at 20th three times per day. This power has a range of 120 feet.

This ability replaces first blood.

Flash Step (Su)

At 11th level, a thunder god can move across the battlefield like a bolt of lightning. As a full-round action, he can transform into lightning and move to any unoccupied square within 60 feet without provoking attacks of opportunity. He can activate a single swordskill before or after this movement.

This ability replaces swap places.

Ride the Lightning (Su)

At 15th level, as a full-round action, the thunder god can become a living lightning bolt and move in a straight line up to 10 times his movement speed. The thunder god does not provoke attacks of opportunity while moving in this way. Creatures or objects in his path are affected as by his thunderbolt ability. Creatures do not block his movement but solid barriers do unless they are reduced to 0 hit points. The thunder god can use this ability once per day for a number of rounds equal to his sword saint level.

This ability replaces steel defense.

Flash Strike (Su)

At 19th level, when a thunder god uses flash step, he can activate a swordskill both before and after his movement. Both of these (if it requires an attack roll) are made at his highest base attack bonus.

This ability replaces master warleader.

Storm Lord (Ex)

At 20th level, the thunder god is one with the storm. The thunder god gains immunity to deafness, stunning, and wind effects and gain blindsight 120 feet against concealment from natural or magical fog, mist, or weather. Once per day, when attacked with a lightning effect, the thunder god may forgo his saving throw and absorb the energies of the attack, healing 1 point of damage for every 3 points of damage the attack would otherwise have dealt.

This ability replaces last blood.
