MedusaA monster that looks like a woman, and will turn to stone any who look into her eyes. Once a beautiful maiden, the medusa was turned into her current hideous form from the curses of those who envied her beauty. She now lives in seclusion, and shows her resentment to those who cursed her into her current form, the world itself, and any who she encounter by turning everyone and everything into stone.

A medusa’s snake-hair allows her to see in all directions. Medusa gain a +4 racial bonus to Perception checks and cannot be flanked.

Petrify (Su)

3/day, a medusa can focus her stony gaze upon a single target within 30 feet. The target receives the Petrification status effect (Fortitude save DC 19 to negate).

Blue mages may learn this ability as a 4th level spell (Knowledge: Local DC 23).

Petrifying Gaze (Su)

1/day, a medusa turns it victims to stone permanently within a 30-ft.-cone radius. Everyone within the effect must make a Fortitude DC 19 to negate the Petrification status effect. This is a gaze attack. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Poison (Ex)

Bite—injury; save Fort DC 20; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d4 Str; cure 2 consecutive saves. The save DC is Constitution-based.
