Chocobo food is a great way to enhance your chocobo to be the best that they can be. Some provide permanent buffs that require days if not weeks to apply, while others provide a temporary enhancement immediately. Each food item weighs about 1 lb. each.
Permanent food buffs require feeding the chocobo (chocobos from animal companion or chocobo mount class features are excluded from benefiting from this) once a day for however long it takes time to apply (see table below), usually a week to a month. Temporary food buffs apply immediately and usually last a minute to an hour.
