DESCRIPTION
Linkshells produce linkpearls that enable basic communication. These linkshells are given a shield-shaped crest, the pattern and colors of which are chosen at creation. This pattern can be changed at any time.
EFFECTS
Linkshells can produce sacks of linkpearls, to a maximum of 50 pearls per shell, that allow trusted recipients to independently distribute access to others. The shell holder controls the distribution of pearlsacks.
Anyone holding a linkpearl can whisper up to 25 words at a time into the pearl. The sender’s words emerge from all other linkpearls connected to the linkshell, audible to anyone holding the linkpearl, as long as the receivers are on the same plane of existence.
Anyone eavesdropping on either sender or receiver must attempt a DC 14 Will saving throw. On a success, an eavesdropper can hear the speakers normally. On a failure, the speakers seem to be relaying gibberish and nonsense words to each other. Creatures who fail this saving throw by 5 or more are deafened for 1d4 minutes.
