DESCRIPTION

Throwing cards function as thrown weapons but are treated as ammunition for the purposes of drawing them, crafting masterwork or special versions, and determining what happens to them after being thrown.

Each set of throwing cards consists of 52 steel-edged playing cards, residing within a deck box. This deck box holds one complete set of cards and can be magically enhanced as a weapon, imparting its magical properties to all cards within.

Crafted with steel-edged precision, each card has a hardness of 1 and 3 hit points. The deck box itself has a hardness of 2 and 10 hit points.

This weapon falls under the “Special” weapon proficiency category, meaning proficiency cannot be gained through ordinary means such as weapon proficiency feats. In addition, throwing cards possess the “Innocuous” special feature, making them difficult to recognize as a weapon. Creatures attempting to identify throwing cards as a weapon must succeed at a DC 25 Perception skill check, even if the cards are held in hand.

Throwing cards cannot be used as melee weapons.
