These items can be used at any time as a standard action, provided you have a free hand to imbibe or apply the item. Items that cure status ailments or restore HP will not work on dead characters. Each item is one-time use only; they are completely consumed upon being used. Lower-tiered items are often found in the simplest of shops, while higher-tiered items require large cities.
- Range: Alchemical Items have a 10-foot range and can be thrown up to 5 range increments, if an item misses it still activates and loses its effect.
- Weight: All Alchemical Items each have a weight of 0.1 lbs unless otherwise noted.
- Feat and Spells: Crafting the following alchemical items requires the Craft Alchemical Item feat and knowledge of the associated spell as listed in the “Spell Needed” column of the table.
- DC: Alchemical items have a DC of 10 + the level of the spell + the lowest casting modifier to cast the spell.
- CL: Unlike normal Item Creation feats, the Craft Alchemical Items feat requires the spellcaster to be of the caster level needed to create these alchemical items. In addition, the item crafter cannot set the caster level.
Special: To create Tier 2 alchemical items, you must have a caster level of at least 6th level. To create Tier 3 alchemical items, you must have a caster level of at least 9th level. To create Tier 4 alchemical items, you must have a caster level of at least 12th level. To create Tier 5 alchemical items, you must have a caster level of at least 15th level (These requirements cannot be waived, though if a crafter’s CL is lower than required for an item but is high enough for the tier they can still craft them).
The following types are how these alchemical items are used:
- Contact: These alchemical items are delivered the moment a creature touches the item with its bare skin, usually thrown with ranged touch attacks. Ranged touch attacks against willing targets (these are usually allies) are resolved against flat-footed touch AC (10 + size modifier + deflection bonus). Healing items can be used on allies as a melee touch attack when adjacent to them, or directly on the user without the need for an attack roll (Antidote Bandage, Eye Drops, Sun Drops, etc), this does not extend to attack or status infliction items.
- Ingested: These alchemical items are delivered when a creature eats or drinks the alchemical item.
- Inhaled: These alchemical items are delivered the moment a creature enters an area containing such alchemical items. For most inhaled alchemical items, 1 dose fills a volume equal to a 10-foot cube. A creature can attempt to hold its breath while inside the area to avoid inhaling the alchemical item. A creature holding its breath receives a 50% chance of not having to make a save for the alchemical item each round. See the rules for holding your breath and suffocation. If a creature is holding its breath and fails the Constitution check to continue doing so, rather than suffocating it begins to breathe normally again (and is subject to the effects of the inhaled alchemical item if still in the area).
The Alchemical Items list is meant to replace potions from base Pathfinder, if you use this list your game should not use the Brew Potion item creation feat or its attached potions list from Pathfinder.

When crafting Tier 5 alchemical items you must spend 8 hours per 1000 gil of the base price instead of the normal 1 hour per tier. Tier 5 alchemical items are not affected by the Chemist’s Alchemical Diffusion or Instant Alchemy abilities, nor can they be affected by the Dilution discovery.
